OSMOAIR™ OSMO GATEWAY

A communication gateway connecting OSMOAIR™ devices across a facility over RS-485.

Interactive 3D model
Product Overview
[1/7]

OSMO GATEWAY ties a facility's devices together. It combines wireless connectivity, an isolated RS-485 interface, and relay control, and handles bidirectional serial communication between field devices and host systems. Built-in protection circuitry and status LEDs make installation and diagnostics straightforward. It mounts on a DIN rail for control-panel integration.

It's part of the OSMOAIR™ system for protecting infrastructure, supporting compliance, and keeping indoor conditions where they should be.

Key Highlights
[2/7]

Isolated RS-485 Interface

Bidirectional serial communication with TVS diode, surge and ESD protection, plus a 120 Ω termination resistor.

Relay Control

One normally-open relay rated up to 10 A @ 250 VAC / 30 VDC, with optocoupler isolation.

Wi-Fi & Bluetooth

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and BLE 5.0 for wireless connectivity alongside the wired interface.

DIN Rail Mount

Industrial rail-mountable enclosure (91.6 × 23.3 × 58.7 mm) built for control panel integration.

LED Indicators

Power indicator (Red LED), Relay status indicator, and RGB LED for RS-485 transmit/receive diagnostics.

Power Interface

5 V DC power input via dedicated screw terminals.

Environmental Parameters
[4/7]

What this device measures, and why each parameter matters. Expand any one for its purpose, common sources, and where it comes up.

OSMO GATEWAY aggregates environmental parameters from networked field devices (OSMO MINI and OSMO PRO) over RS-485 and drives automated relay actions based on threshold conditions:

Monitored & Controlled Parametersvia Connected Sensors
T°

Temperature

The degree of heat or cold in an indoor environment. It directly affects occupant comfort, equipment performance, and process stability.

RH

Relative Humidity

The amount of moisture present in the air relative to its maximum capacity. Maintaining the right humidity helps prevent condensation, static electricity, and material degradation.

CO₂

Carbon Dioxide (CO₂)

A naturally occurring gas released through human respiration and combustion. Elevated CO₂ levels often indicate inadequate ventilation and overcrowded indoor spaces.

H₂

Hydrogen (H₂)

The lightest and highly flammable gas, commonly released during lead-acid battery charging. Continuous monitoring is essential in battery rooms to detect hazardous accumulation and trigger relay-driven exhaust ventilation.

VOC

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)

A family of airborne chemicals emitted from paints, furniture, adhesives, cleaning products, and solvents. High VOC levels can reduce indoor air quality and indicate chemical pollution.

Standard Gateway Parameters
485

RS-485 Bus Communication

Bidirectional serial communication with 120 Ω matching resistor

NO

Relay Contact Status

1 Normally Open (1 NO), rated ≤10 A @ 250 VAC / 30 VDC

Configurable Options

  • Multi-drop field sensor network integration over isolated RS-485
  • Automated threshold-driven relay trip execution
How It Works
[5/7]
01

Install the device

Mount the industrial protective case onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail inside the control cabinet and wire 5 V DC power to the screw terminals.

02

Connect to the OSMOAIR Platform

Connect field devices via the isolated RS-485 screw terminals and link to the network via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or BLE 5.0.

03

Monitor, alert, and report

Enable bidirectional serial communication between field devices and host systems, and trip the 10A optocoupled relay based on configured threshold conditions.
